About Healing Rooms
How Did Healing Rooms Start?
Healing Rooms were originally started by John G Lake in Spokane, Washington, USA, in the early 1900s. During one five year period 100,000 confirmed healings were recorded, resulting in Spokane being declared the healthiest city in the world. In 1999 the Lord led a man named Carl Pierce to re-open the Healing Rooms in Spokane, on the original site used by John G Lake. Since then they have seen thousands of healings, and many other Healing Rooms have been opened around the world.
Affiliated to the International Association of Healing Rooms (IAHR)
Northampton Healing Rooms are affiliated to the International Association of Healing Rooms (IAHR), whose headquarters are in Spokane, Washington, USA. The IAHR is an association of Healing Room ministries in churches and cities across the world, with a common vision to restore healing to the body of Christ, to reach the world. The commission is based upon Mark 16v17-18 ‘And these signs will follow those who believe....they will lay their hands on the sick and they will recover’.
Getting Involved in the Team
Northampton Healing Rooms train individuals in the IAHR model. We welcome involvement from members of other churches, who believe they are called to pray for the sick, or to be intercessors in the healing ministry. Everyone is welcome to attend the training, and subsequent selection for the ministry or intercession team. Selection is dependent upon a successful interview by the Healing Rooms Director, and a positive recommendation by the pastor or leader of the church where the individual is a member.
We believe that where the body of Christ come together in unity there is a powerful anointing of the Holy Spirit to heal the sick.
